Day trip to Bath
« on: August 26, 2006, 05:45:11 PM »
Going for a Sunday drive tomorrow to Bath just for the day.

Places that have piqued my interest include:

The Roman Baths
Aqua Theatre of Glass
Museum of Costume
Bath Abbey
Pump Room for tea

Any other gems I am missing?

Just popping in to say I loved the Museum of Costume- so completely worth it! (They do a joint ticket with the Roman Baths that will save you a few quid.)

Was underwhelmed by the Bath Abbey, though, even though it was pretty...

Isn't there a Jane Austen museum or similar in Bath?  If you're fan, that'd definitely be worth checking out.

I agree about the Museum of Costume, it's great! I enjoyed it better than the baths which are all touristified.

When I visited Bath 20 years ago, we spent the afternoon looking for Tears for Fears..  that might be a wee bit dated though ;) :D

Courtney, there is a little bakery right across from the Roman Bath's that make the most fabulous brownies!!!  The pasties are very tasty too... :)

Bath isn't too far from Exeter so I can't wait to take a trip there and see her home.  Courtney I hope you have a wonderful time!
