Moving after getting the visa
« on: September 08, 2006, 10:52:06 AM »
DUH, I posted this and forgot the subject part.  Here goes again:

Say we decide to go ahead and apply for  my husband to move back to the US with me, do we HAVE to enter the US as soon as the process (visa/permanent resident) is finished or can we wait a few more months?  I ask because, financially, we need to be here for about 1 more year but I hear the process can take less than that.  Anyone know?  TIA

June

i believe he has 6 months to enter the USA from acceptance of his visa.

for us, we will prob go 3 months after if he has no job lined up-if he does he will leave ASAP and i will stay for 3 months

That is correct. They will stamp the date on his visa and its valid for entry up to six months from that date.
