life insurance

Well, I have some coverage through my work but DH has none. We don't have a lot of money but know he needs to have some coverage. We've never bought this kind of insurance before... anything we should know about? Tips, etc?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

whole life - or term life as it is in the UK - is MUCH cheaper in the US, so buy it in the States if you need it!

Can you buy it for a UK resident as well?

Or for instance, I'm a US citizen, my husband is not and never has been a green card holder either.  Could we get a joint policy for the two of us?
