Winant-Clayton Volunteers

I don't know if anyone's ever heard of this..this is a program where UK folk spend time in NYC and US folk spend their time in London. I was a Winant-Clayton volunteer back in 1999 and it was a good way of experiencing time in UK in a relatively "safe" manner. Meaning you go over with a large group of Americans , you have accomodations sorted for you before hand and you get well cared for by the group. I really enjoyed my experience and I'm still mates with the other Americans that came along in my group 7 years later. You spend 7 weeks working in a particular placement depending on your skills and interest. You had to be interviewed , needed two referrences and the competition was stiff but that was 7 years ago I don't know how it's changed.
I used it as an opportunity to do get to see London in an non tourist perspective and have my interviews for universities I've applied for that same year.

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.
