Hi, I'm likely to have to file a tax return this year and I understand there is a tax implication for mileage and fuel relating to driving my car to work sites.
For part of the year I was paid 40p/mile as follows HMRC guidelines. In October I received a fuel card and no longer get paid mileage. The fuel covers business and private driving.
It's a bit difficult navigating the HMRC site about this, there seems to be a million links to various pages but I can't make much sense of it. Will I have to report the business miles for the mileage I was paid and report the fuel payments from the fuel card? Is there a likelihood I'll owe money or more likely that no actual tax liability would need to be paid or does that depend on how many miles/how much fuel was required?
Thanks!
