Flight ticket sites
« on: November 17, 2006, 06:02:36 AM »
Okay, so I've been checking cheaptickets.com (used before...never a prob), travelocity, expedia, and yahoo travel.  Are there any other flight sites anyone can recommend that have not outrageous international fares?

This one looks good. Haven't used it yet, but I did call for more info, and they were very helpful.

I've been using a new site that will tell you all the airline, hotel, etc...prices...and then you choose which site you go to...it's at www.kayak.com  Found good prices of all sorts there.  Another place is www.travelzoo.com or www.travelzoo.co.uk - those sites come up with a weekly listing of all good sales with travel.  I found a ticket from Denver to London during Christmas time for $400 just last week!  So there are bargains out there!  Good luck!

I used www.1800flyeurope.com for the majority of my trips from the US to the UK. It doesn't tell you the airline name until after you bought the ticket but it does give you the complete prices including taxes. If you've looked around enough, it's pretty easy to tell which flight belongs to which airline.

If flying from the US, I usually check Orbitz, Kayak, and Mobissimo.  If flying from the UK, Opodo is a must.

Hope this helps!

www.sidestep.com  I'm not sure if it's only for studnets or not though..... there does not seem to be anything on the page indicating that it was though.

If you know what airline you want to use, you can book directly from their homepage. I started booking directly from USAirways.com because they're the only airline that I can get a direct flight from Philly to Manchester anyway, and when I compared the prices between their site, and Orbitz and Expedia, it was about the same but just slightly cheaper. I got my flight there next month for just under $500, not bad for a week before Christmas  ;D

Yep, I tend to have a look around at the other internet sites to compare prices but lately I've been buying straight from the airline's own site.

My fav is yahoo farechase it links you straight to the site that is selling the ticket.
