My sweetheart and I finally went to the register office to give notice (of intent to marry). They gave us a mini interview and took a copy of my fiancee visa and had us sign a few forms. All together it was much easier than I had expected (I think I was expecting it to be more like the grilling we got when we went for the fiancee visa in NYC)
As we have chosen to do a civil ceremony it's going to be very simple, no frills. We haven't decided if we want rings yet (I have my engament ring, but he works with his hands and is concerned about damaging the ring and/or losing a finger)
I'm much rather he not wear one than lose a finger !
So, we've set the date

*which is great* and he's talking about going for a honeymoon trip--the thing is, does anyone know of any pet friendly B&Bs or hotels? (we were looking to go up near york, but south would be ok too!) I have a diabetic cat who needs insulin every 12 hours.
