You also have to consider that the way of life in London is vastly different from LA. You can have a good standard of living in London but you can't expect to replicate every aspect of your LA lifestyle. Even in an expensive apartment you probably won't have a jacuzzi and hardly anyone in London has a swimming pool. But you will find other things to compensate. As tinathellama says, it's a question of working out your pros and cons. Maybe the salary will be a little less than you are used to (in real terms) but realistically, it is still very good for London & spectacular for the rest of the UK.
