Since you're talking about getting the deposit back, I assume you're not moving to London, however - if you're planning to travel in London even a few times a year (I can't remember if you're moving to the UK or if you're just visiting), it might be worth hanging on to your Oyster card. I live 300 miles from London but I'm in the city often enough (visiting friends, taking the train down to catch a flight from Heathrow, etc.) that I find having an Oyster very useful - as long as I keep a bit of credit on it, I don't have to fight the huge lines at the King's Cross tube station and can just be on my merry way when I get to London, which saves at least 15 minutes, and it's a much less messy way to travel overall. Just a thought!
