« on: December 18, 2006, 06:44:36 PM »
Well i was wondeing what other parents have packed as snacks for their kids on flights. I am not sure what i can and cant take, trying to find info, but iget so confused with it all. My son who is 4 is such a pciky eater. I know he wont eat airline food, any suggestions of things i am allowed to take on board.

Any suggestions would be great.

You can pretty much bring anything you want to eat on board but all drinks have to be bought by an airline shop after you pass through security.

I have a picky 8 year old so Ill be packing things like ritz crackers raisins and a p b and j sandwich or two.

From BAA being handed out at Gatwick this morning...

Quote
The following items may be placed in your hand baggage in containers up to 100ml, in the re-sealable bag:
Foodstuffs for example, water, soft drinks, yoghurt, soup, syrup.

The following items items are allowed as hand baggage:
Baby food (Pastes and liquids) quantity required for your trip

Alcohol/Drinks/etc can be carried on if purchased after security as Pebbles mentioned.

Dry foodstuffs are allowed.  I don't think they will fuss about a PBJ, but might not allow a jar of jam over 100ml on.  Remember though, at least leaving the UK, only 1 piece of hand baggage per person is allowed on the plane, so don't go overboard.

There will be 3 of us, so we will have 3 pieces of hand luggage, one with the kids xmas pressies, my hand bag and a bag with snacks and things to keep kiddos occupied.

I've just done 3 trips in and out of Manchester to the US in the last 3 weeks. I was able to bring through security a sandwich and some crisps and some fruit. Another crew member had yoghurt and that was confiscated.
