Hi Kath,

Have you had a chance to narrow down your choices of places ?!  saying the 'south east' is a bit too vague!

I just found a house price survey, and I was a little shocked to see Slough is right up there in terms of pricing!

http://uk.houseprices.yahoo.net/

there again..  what with Richings Park, Stoke Poges, Fulmer, Gerrards Cross and quite a few other areas around, Im not too surprised!

So I say come live around here!

;)  Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough!

Hey Dennis

Yes we have finally decided were going for Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill area.. I like surrey too but DD got accepted to a college in Brighton and as i get to drive her to school I dont want a long commute... DH on the other hand will probably end up with  1-1/2 hour commute for work..

HOWEVER... as we decided to rent for a while and we are bringing our dogs it may be hard to find someone to rent to us with 2 dogs so we may have to be a bit more flexible... well see...

i dont think we are going to buy until DD goes off to Uni....

Thanks for the offer to come live near you... do you cook ? LOL ill need a home cooked meal after this move :)

Is this a college?  Or a university?  If it's a college, then I would think there'd be one closer to your husband's work.  An hour and a half commute sounds hellish.  Where's he working?

Me and cooking?! - nah, That's what AnneR, PDXgal and other's nearby are for!

Scour the local adverts and ones in shop windows etc for private landord's who'll probably be a little more flexible when it comes to pets etc. Hopefully you'll find a suitable place :)

cheers! DtM West London & Slough UK!

Mindy... its a college but one we wanted for her so she can slip into a support system with our friends girls who go there...and if we live in burgess hill we are close to but not on top of family and friends.. hubby hasnt taken and offer yet but yes it sounds like a hellish commute so hes taking all that into consideration and hoping to get somthing closer... still the offer is one he may not be able to refuse so well see..
