Samson's problem

Samson our 7 month old German Shepherd has ticks and I'm freaking out about it. In the USA I would go to a pet supplies store and get some dip and dip him at home but that was about ten years ago. What can I get Samson for his ticks?

aww..thanks for that. We noticed just a a few on him but he wont let us get them off. He needs some sort of treatment.

yuck ticks! I hated when I had a dog who had those!  Have you tried looking on Ebay for tick treatment? Maybe get some shipped in from the states if its not avail in the uk?

My MIL cat, is allergic to fleas! lol ..she must've been really bad in a pastlife to be born allergic to fleas in this life lol

Is Frontline available in the UK, or could you have it shipped in?  I just got a recommendation for it from a US vet tech on the rescue board.

I got confirmation from a Scot that Frontline is available in the UK.  She also mentioned a product called Bob Martin Spot On for fleas and ticks.

I use olive oil on my Samson's ticks.  They pull right out on their own that way.  The hard part is getting him to hold still long enough to put on the oil and not lose the tick!  I found one on him last night, in fact.  No clue where he picked it up.  He was covered in them when I adopted him but the humane society dipped him.

I've been using it on Davie since the day we got him and he has never had a single tick or flea, ever.   It works!

I use Frontline on Willie, too. Our first summer here, he had terrible fleas! But I've used Frontline on him ever since then and have never seen a flea. I assume it's as good with ticks.

I just heard from a Registered Vet Tech in CA who I trust, and she says Frontline Plus will kill the ticks on the dog, but won't detach them.  You'll either have to remove them yourself, get a friend to do it or take him to the vet.  She doesn't recommend Bob Martin.  It sounds like it's on the level of Hartz, which I wouldn't use on any living creature.
