Learning the UK banking and money system can be a bit daunting but this guy's site is very good for comparisons, tips and loopholes etc.

and my bank actually paid me back!! Due to sheer stupidity and income reduction during my maternity leave, I had a fair bit of overdraft penalties and they have all been refunded!!

Highly recommend this site, the layout is a little 'too busy' but the value of information is it's real strength, plus Martin Lewis is a reputable journalist !

Dennis, do you mind if I ask you if you're really Alvin Hall? You had some fab money saving tips in another post & well, he is American & lives in the UK (I believe!) - in any case - he's brill - I LOVED his show & have his book!

I try to incorporate money saving tips with the discipline of looking after your finances using Personal finance software (Quicken - As I used to work for Intuit). It's been a long time coming, but in the near future I'll have a revamped website and I'll let UKY'ers know about it !
