PO phone card offering free calls during Dec
« on: December 04, 2006, 12:22:58 PM »
Free phone calls to the USA on every Saturday during December from 12 noon to 12 midnight using the PO phone card.  You can buy the 5 pound phone card and then use it to make these free calls - then still have a 5 pound card to use at other times (it's normally 3.5 pence a minute with this card).  Call everyone and wish them a Merry Christmas - better than a card anyday!!

If you want free unlimited 24/7 calls to the US you might be interested in the Orange set-up I use. I have a monthly contract mobile phone with Orange for £30 a month and for an extra £5 a month they provide me with 8meg broadband and a wireless router called a Livebox. You plug a normal phone into the livebox and get unlimited 24/7 calls to any UK landline starting 01 or 02, free calls to Orange mobiles and free 24/7 unlimited calls to the US and 99 other countries. It works very well and they also provide you with an 0845 number so it's easy for anyone to call you.

I realise it's not entirely free as I have to pay £35, but I have to have a mobile and I have to have BB, so paying £35 for both and unlimited international calls bundled for free seems like a good deal to me.

PS - I don't work for Orange ether!  ;)

Later this month we're switching over to TalkTalk's international package http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-server-PageServer?article=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.STATIC.TARIFFS.TALK3INT where you get free calls to the USA (up to 70 minutes) anytime (just pay line rental & their package price) and you also get their free broadband.   :-\\\\  Not bad.  Anyone else have any experience with TalkTalk?

Is this 70 minutes per talk session or 70 minutes per week or month?

70 minutes per call.  You can hang up and call back.

I've heard nothing but bad about talk talk but maybe that's just here. I do know their broadband is useless and for free what do you expect. I use NTL and for ages I couldn't and was devastated. They are the best for everything I find. I have tv, phone and broadband with them
