Driving test CD-Roms?
« on: January 29, 2007, 06:42:24 PM »
I've heard that there are CD-Roms that you can buy to help prepare for the written portion of the driving test.  Has anyone used these?  Are they worth it--better than just getting a book, I mean?

And, if anyone has used them recently and taken the test already, would you be interested in selling them?

Thanks,

Jade

I used this DVD to prepare for the hazard perception portion of the exam:

For the multiple choice questions, I paid the £6.99 to use the database here: http://www.theory-tests.co.uk/home/  I just did the practice tests over and over till I felt like I had seen all the questions.

I passed both sections my first time with a few days practice/study time.

I'd offer you my DVD but have already handed it off to another UKY sucker, err, learner.  ;D

Good luck!

Do a search and you can find a few sites that offer free tests and an example of what the hazard perception looks like. When you register for your exam the DSA also sends out a CD to help you understand what you will experience.

I perferred reading a book.

I thought the practical test was waaaaay easier than what I was studying. It was the Hazard Perception that I needed more practice understanding how to do it.

I didn't want to spend the money so I got my books and cd from the library. I needed them for more than 3 weeks so when the time was up, I just renewed them. I was lucky because the current ones had been donated to the library.

I bought the CDs for the both the theory and the hazard tests. I crammed like there was no tomorrow and I passed everything the first time around. They really helped me a lot. I think you can get by with a book or using online questions for the theory portion, but in my opinion it would be tough to pass the hazard test without actually doing a real demo.

I used the Driving test  -road signs and theory.  I'm done w/ them so If you want I can post them to you.  Just PM your address.  The theory one REALLY helped me.  I crammed the night before and passed on my first try!

I'm taking my driving test on Thursday and am sooo stressed at the moment.

I got a set that includes the book and dvds as well as L plates. It's never been opened and won't be as I don't need them. If you're interested, I'd sell them to you :) PM me

very true!! I missed points on one clip because they said I clicked too much... the rest of the test I was fretting that I was clicking too much/too little!! I would have been devastated if I failed the test because of the HP part after getting 35/35 on the theory!!!  >:(
