How many 1040's ?
« on: February 16, 2004, 02:05:26 PM »
Hi,

I just got on board on this forum. I had a quick question on taxes. I moved to the UK in April of 2003. I presume I have to file a 1040 for my duration in the USA for Jan-Apr, and will need to file another one for my UK duration Apr 03 -Jan 04? I am working with a UK firm and paying UK taxes and have a
National Insurance Number...(HSMP Visa)

I assume I have to file but did not earn above the Exclusionary value of 80K...

Do I use a local tax person/form in the USA for the Jan-Apr duration and the rest on another form downloaded from the London IRS site?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

All your income and deductions , be it during your US residency or UK residency can be reported on one tax return.

It will be very lengthy if I were to explain it in writing. Therefore feel free to call me to discuss this if you wish . You can reach me on 0208 466 9297.
