Pimping out the Open University...
« on: July 29, 2004, 02:20:27 PM »
I'm still taking my first course with them...and I've just recently been to my first Residential School.  I cannot recommend the Open University http://www.openuniversity.com/ enough.  I've already picked out my next two courses with them, and I'm looking forward to (eventually) completing my degree with them.  :)

If you're interested in taking some classes (or getting a degree...) and are at all unsure of either where your interests lie or tackling the UK school system...they are just the most wonderful school to work with.

I figured they deserved a mention.  :)

Even though I am not taking any classes, I have to second!  My best friend Suzanne is getting her Psychology degree and cannot say enough about it!  If I ever decide to go back to school, I will be doing it at the Open University!!!!

do you actually do all of your work at home?  i had difficulty at uni taking a home class..being disciplined enough to do it..i found the classroom setting better for me....

It's really up to you.  There are tutorials, that generally meet once a week (tho mine's in an akward place to get to).  And of course many of the courses have associated residential schools.  :)

I'll be teaching a course for them starting in Feb if they have enough students.  It's a new course, so there's no guarantee it will run (fingers crossed).
