I have some minimal knitting & crocheting skills -- more knitting than crocheting, although I CAN crochet a single strand!  If we all sent her a square, MrsPink would have an interesting quilt indeed. :D [smiley=freak.gif]

If it wasn't for my son.. the square idea is great!  Sadly my DS won't appreciate the UK-Y effort!!!

I like the idea of making a 'communal' afghan though.  I do know how to knit!

I have a vague recollection of doing something like that with my grandmother.  We knitted individual squares in different colors & then she joined them together.

Yes!!!  Desertdreamer  is on the case.  We decided to make a baby afghan  in the same size and  a similar pattern to his baby blanket but in Manchester United Colours!  (he's a big supporter and his room is in Man U colours).  he'll be thrilled!

Thanks for all the offers guys.  You guys are great!  If there is anything I can do to return the favour.. ;D
