I'M HERE!!!
« on: March 06, 2004, 05:24:53 PM »
Well, after a long flight, and leaving my entire jewelry collection in a backpack hanging on the back of a cart at Heathrow (which miraculously, was retrieved), I'm just now getting over the jet lag and getting on with things.  I find that getting out of the house and getting things done, even if it's not much, helps subside the panic and fear which starts to set in the moment I stop moving.
I've never walked so much in my life!!!!  I knew I would be, but wow, I don't even know that the most comfortable shoes can help my feet, which are roughly adjusting (they're saying, where's the foot pedal?!  We're not used to walking around so much!).
Anyway, still sporadically online, borrowing my friend's computer, or internet cafes.... mainly trying to get a job, and a flatshare are the two most immediate goals.
And some of you said you'd like to arrange a meeting up in a central area at some point, so I'd love to be a part of that!
Cheers!

Congrats Elizabeth! Glad you made it safe and sound...despite the bout of "airhead-ness" that I am also prone to.  ::)

Enjoy your new life and best of luck with finding a home & job!!  :D

Glad to hear that you got here in one piece, and that your jewerly laden backpack was retrieved. I would have been in a panic if it had been me.  Was away for the last 5 days, or would have tried to meet everyone in London. Maybe next time :)

Welcome to the UK Elizabeth :)
