Kitchen stuff
« on: March 15, 2007, 03:01:35 PM »
I'm obsessed with things to do with the kitchen. I love looking at pots and pans and bakewear. I spent so long in Hammond's basememt admiring the wares. I drool over the Smeg appliances and electric scales. I love anything to do with the kitchen. I don't know why because I don't cook much. I'm getting better though.  :)

DH makes fun of me for searching online for recipes constantly.  Funny thing is he doesn't complain when the food is ready  ;D  I'm already more worried about what kitchen stuff I'm going to bring when we move than I am about most of my clothes :P

I can highly recommend both the service and the cookbooks available from a British eBay seller called secondhandcookbooks.  His prices are good and he ships out promptly as well.  I read cookbooks like some people read novels.
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter what road you take.

I do the same. I am always on epicurious, all recipes and recipzaar and googling recipes.

Thanks for that!

And if anyone's ever in Cheltenham, there's an awesome second-hand cookbook shop there called Cooking the Books. It's a warren of shelves, with books overflowing all over the floor - but the owner/proprietor knows exactly where everything is. Amazing.

Also, my new favourite online site for buying kitchen gadgets and other foodie stuff is London Bar & Kitchen. It's primarily a wholesale place, but they also sell retail and have fantastic prices.

I love cooking magazines!
Since I travel so much for work, I always buy them at the airport to read on the plane.  Much prefer that to the gossip mags.
