In attempt to get my lazy self back into shape I am trying to start a workout routine.
My big rediscovery is jumping rope! I loved doing it as a kid and thought Id give it a try again. Well, its much harder when you are taller, heavier, and in poorer shape than when you were a kid! My first attempt was in the front driveway and I kept getting the rope caught on my head or feet and I got embarassed and went to the backyard.
But NOW, after a few short days of pathetic attempts Ive gotten the hang of it again! I take 10 minutes in the morning and put on some upbeat music and count my jumps up to about 80 or so, stop, rest and stretch my calves and let my heart rate slow down, then start jumping again for another 80. I do three rounds of 80 and it is a good workout! Gets the heart racing in only 30 seconds.
Its a great way to wake up in the morning, doesn't take much time, and boosts my metabolism in the morning. I definatly recommend the jump rope.
