Did anyone get married in New Hampshire?
« on: May 09, 2007, 10:00:31 PM »
DF and I are looking at getting married in New Hampshire (at our favorite place in the states). However, I don't live in New Hampshire but just over the border in Massachusetts.  Can I get the marriage license in Salem and get married in Derry (Pawtuckaway State Park to be more specific)?    ???   Derry doesn't seem to issue marriage licenses but they are both covered in the Merrimack Valley region.

I'd PM this but I figured other people might like to see what I found as well. My fiance and I are going with flying to Las Vegas (maybe?) on Holiday to get married if our Fiance Visa doesn't work out later this summer. I'd say you're good to go if you want to marry in NH.

There must be a common area registry in the Merrimack Valley region then...could you call the Derry Town Hall and find out?

I love NH too! Lake Winnipesauke is my favorite lake!!

I finally got in touch with someone at the Derry townhall. I can get the marriage license anywhere in the state and then get married anywhere in the state!  Yay!  I originally posted because I couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone.  ::)

Oh, and Darlithia, if you are thinking of the Vegas wedding because of the no waiting period, guess what?  New Hampshire doesn't have a waiting period anymore!  So, you can do it closer to home if you like!
