One good tip is to try to book your test during rush hour.  They usually try to avoid the busy areas so the test routes are limited and your instructor can tell you what to expect w/ more accuracy.  At least that's how it worked out for me. 

That's weird because one of the big tips my instructor gave me was to avoid rush hour!! He said mid-morning was the best time - after work and school traffic, but while the examiners were still "fresh." It worked for me!

Maybe it's because I'm in a rural spot. We only have one test route, so traffic can make a big difference.

I passed both tests the first time without lessons but only becasue I was driving here for THREE years before!!  :o   I've been driving for 25 years! How is that possible?  :-\\\\
