i went to the us embassy earlier this month and she said the only problem i may have is sponsoring my bf (who will be a husband at a bit of a later date). Reason being i have lived here since i was 13. I'm not sure if anyone has had or is having a similar sort of issue and if thats the case what have you done?
My aunt and uncle have offered to be joint sponsors but does that mean my daughter and i need to leave and set up home at my aunts first before we can file anything??? And does anyone know who you can use for this??? Can family members be used? the person who set us up??? Or does it have to be a professional?? It doesn't say but asked about the relationship.
"Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship (each affidavit must contain the full name and address, date of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner of the beneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge of your marriage)"
also i understand about this conditional status thing as we haven't been together 2 years yet let alone be married two years!!! But the house is only in his name, all the bills are in his name (except for the council tax which has to have both our names on it) and tax credits- is that sufficient information that we have been living together?
And surely my daughter (who isn't my bf's by the way) calls him daddy and has done so for a long while now- we aren't doing that ALL just to get him a green card! Thats a little cruel on a child but I'm sure there are some horrible people out there would do it.
If i have to leave my (then husband) here to file all these silly forms does anyone know what sort of time its going to take? I guess i just don't want to have to wait a year without him especially when we would be newly married just for him to get over here. a couple of months i guess i could handle but im sure the phone bill would be outrageous!!!
And boy they like to make this hard!
