My BF (an Irish citizen) is coming to the US with me in July for a 2 week visit. He booked his flight and gave the passport details. However, his passport is 9 years old and isn't biometric. US customs says if he doesn't have biometric, he needs to get a travel visa. Since it's due to expire next year anyway, he's decided to get a new passport. Is this going to cause any problems with the airline since he booked his flight under a different passport number?
