Where's the orzo?
« on: May 29, 2007, 11:15:37 AM »
We love orzo and can't find the dried pasta in Sainsbury's or Tesco.  Yet, they sell prepared orzo salads here.  I think I must be missing something...does anyone know where I can get a box of dried orzo?

Is that the little Greek pasta that looks like rice? I've seen it in Tesco, but it's with the mediteranean foods, not the pasta section.  I've also come across it in Asian/Middle eastern grocers.

Good question, I can't find it either. So annoying.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Thank you!  That's the one.  So I should look with the Mediterranean foods - what/where are the Mediterranean foods?  We only have a chinese shop near us, and I haven't seen any pasta there.

In the Tesco where I've seen it, there are a couple of shelves of Greek/Cypriot products like olives, halva, vine leaves etc alongside a bunch of health food type products, I think the aisle is actually called "health food" or "whole foods" something like that.
