Notary passport
« on: March 11, 2004, 03:27:34 AM »
I was just reading on this forum, someone said something about a certified passport copy and then someone replied saying that every page would have to be copied in order for it to be accepted...Well my fiance in the UK got a notary passport, at least I think that is what it's called. It's basically just one page and it has the last pages of his passport copied onto it (the pages that have his photo and information) It has a seal on it certifying that it is a true and accurate copy of his passport. Will that do for when I send my visa application off?

I have seen on some information from the consulate that if you are sending a copy, you need to have every single page, including blank pages, copied and certified.

When I sent my application, I only had the one page notarised of my fiancee's (husband) passport and there was no problem.

Although the requirements may now have changed with all the crazy 'homeland security' laws.  It may be best to just get the entire thing notarised just in case. Better safe than sorry!  :P

Yeah, Lou you had me worried to tears about that! But thanks for letting me know. Maybe it's different with different embassys because my fiance rang the embassy in Los Angeles and they said just a page with the picture and information copied onto should be fine.

awwww...Im sorry to worry you!

good thing you got the official advice, because Im no expert.  I just remember reading it somewhere sometime, but there is a lot of incorrect and outdated information out there on the internet, so its best to find out from the officials.

best of luck to you!
