« on: June 16, 2007, 03:57:34 PM »
in the section on supporting documents, they say to include any relevant certificates, such as diplomas. should i send a copy of my college diploma? do i need to send an original? also, should i include my high school diploma? this is for an MA course. thank you.

I also applied for an MA course and for supporting documents I sent my original college transcript and that seemed to be good enough as I did get the visa.

I sent copies of college transcripts that I officially requested from the university. I didn't send a high school diploma. They sent all that stuff back to me along with the visa.

I didn't send any transcripts or diplomas for my student visa. It wasn't necessary.
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

High school info is not necessary.  I alsways advice that your BA certificate or transcript is included.

If you are applying at an Embassy for student entry clearance (sometimes called a "visa" in everyday speech, although it's not a visa), the onyl academic documents you need are those that demonstrate your intention and ability to follow the course.  As a native English speaker with an unconditional offer, that should usually speak for itself, although an ECO might ask for evidence of your previous academic progress to double-check.

If you have been studying in the UK already, and you are extending your stay for further study, either by applying to the Home Office in the UK or via an Embassy overseas, you need to provide letters, transcripts, etc that show your attendance and progress on the course has been satisfactory so far.

I didn't send anything for the visa.  If you've been accepted onto a Master's course, then you needed to prove your Bachelor's degree to the uni anyway, so there's no point in proving it again to the Home Office.  As long as you send in your unconditional offer letter of a place in a Master's program, then that's plenty of evidence!
BUNAC: 9/2004 - 12/2004. Student visa: 1/2005 - 7/2005. Student visa #2: 9/2006 - 1/2008. FLR(IGS): 1/2008 - 10/2008. FLR(M): 10/2008 - 10/2010. ILR 10/2010!!

That should be the case, but I have known ECO's ask for evidence that someone is able to follow the course, as sah10406 has said, so it is a good idea to supply the degree certificate just in case.
