Question for keen bakers

You can find lovely old-fashioned ones at car boot sales for a couple of quid.

I ended up buying my scale from the US and having my parents bring it over, because it was about $30 there as opposed to £35 here. And it's German-made. Of course, just after I got it, I found one on clearance for £14 at TK Maxx.
