DVLA still hasn't returned my passport - when should I really worry?

Any advice on this one? I received back my provisional licence from the DVLA last Monday (a week & a half ago) my passport is still yet to show up. I know they mail them seperately and when I called at the end of last week they wouldn't even deal with my enquiry since there was that mail strike. I really don't want to go through the hassle of declaring it lost since I just had my name changed and have only had my new passport for a little over a month. Any kind words, advice or prayers for me? 

did you include a pre-paid special delivery envelope?

I wasn't given that option.

it's not an option they give you, rather it's when you send them a special delivery envelope pre-addressed to yourself, prepaid.  that way they send your passport special delivery.  otherwise, i *think* they'll just send your passport back regular first class mail.

can you call them and ask if they've sent it back?  perhaps they know?

Thanks! I figured since it still hasn't shown up I'll call them tomorrow. I wish I had known to bring the envelope with me, I would have done it. 

you might want to give it a few more days, theres (another) strike tomorrow I believe.
