Hey, are you poking fun at my Southern background? Just for that, no sugar in your sweet tea!

A Mississippi boy poking fun at an Alabama gal? Never. But apart from Lynyrd Skynyrd, the best thing to come out of Alabama was the I-10.  ;)

But no sugar? NO SUGAR?!! You really wanna see me pitch a hissey fit? I warn ya, it ain't a purty sight.

Let us know if you get the vid uploaded. It would be interesting to see it synced. I watched it again and the voice was a bit distracting this time. I think with the first viewing, one is too busy looking at the 'whole' so don't notice the lips too much.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

I had forgotten about that boll weevil song, thanks for reminding me! I should include the lyrics on my page.

I have the 45 somewhere in my collection if you'd like it transposed to a digital file.  I have no idea who would own the copyright for webpage use now though.  It was Mercury Records originally.

That would be cool, but I've found a way around the copyright thing. I'm just going to link to a video clip of Brook Benton singing it on YouTube (). I also found a site with the mp3 and lyrics for free (Rhapsody),but they don't play the link outside the U.S.

I'd suggest trying Prism. It's free software and will work with your dvd vob files. I'd also recommend converting to windows media instead of mpg so that your filesize is smaller and streams better from your webserver, saving you bandwidth.)

I just tried Prism, and I'm not sure why, but when I convert to .avi it only gets the first 30 seconds or so and then stops. Those first 30 seconds though looked really good! I also tried .mpg (over 100 megs!), .wmv (really bad quality, and moves the picture way ahead and then freezes as it waits for the words to catch up, and .mov, which gave an error message and wouldn't record.

I've only used Prism once, to convert some big divx videos to windows media. There are some changable settings for windows media to adjust the quality, I think it defaulted to streaming for dialup, which is the lowest quality. Video conversion takes a lot of memory, so the conversion process can be affected by other programs running too. I generally close all other programs and let it run until it's finished. Sometimes it will seem like it's hung, when it's actually just working intensively.

I've downloaded your mpg, I'll see what it does for me.

Memory is cheap at the moment, you can add a gig for £25ish. If you go to Crucial Memory website, their scanner will tell you how much memory you can add to your system, and the type you need. Print the results and find it slightly cheaper elsewhere, Ebuyer sells Crucial memory cheaper than Crucial sells it. ;) Adding memory will make you love your puter again.

I got the filesize down to 19.7 mb without too much quality loss in Prism, but I'm not sure if that would stream properly. Trying again with Windows Media Encoder (google "windows media encoder download" it has a wizard that walks you through the settings). I used to offer the option of 2 qualities video (dialup and broadband) and an audio only, just something to think about. It's still encoding, I'll try to post them for you to test before I go to work.

Wonderful! On the memory, I have enough for 90 percent of my uses. I would add more if I felt confident in installing it, but I don't. And my husband is totally useless at this stuff, I'm the one who has to take care of anything technical.
