Walking Groups?
« on: March 16, 2004, 06:10:09 AM »
I know there are tons of excellent walking trails all throughout England, but I'm wondering if there are groups set up to go on these walks together?  It'd be nice to have a walking buddy/buddies, but somehow I'm guessing this isn't commonly done.

Oh, Terinth, there are hundreds of groups, if not thousands!  If you'll bear with me (it's past my bed-time!) I'll post some links in the next day or two.

Bless you for being interested in walking!

My Tom is an avid walker...although we are up North...hoping to get up a walking weekend for anyone interested sometime this summer up in the Cheviots.

Hiya, Terinth!

Right:  walking groups:  the big grandaddy of them all is the Ramblers' Association.  I've checked out their site, and it looks really good and comprehensive, with many links off to local affiliated groups, and tons of other great stuff.  Have a look:

If you are interested in walking in the Shropshire area (what a beautiful county!), this page lists the groups there:

Michelle, if having done the Cheviots, you and Tom feel like having a go at the South Downs, just let me know!

Howard.. thanks so much :)  Sean and I like to take fun strolls around town and whatnot, but it'd be great to get to see more of the countryside.  I will definitely look into it.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
