After reading this thread, I can safely say I'll never be trying Irn Bru.

Don't forget WKD, the alcoholic Irn Bru.

Blue WKD + Port = Cheeky Vimto. It sounds vile, but it's absolutely gorgeous and quite lethal! Served with lots of ice, it tastes just like Vimto.

Is it marketed as something specifically (energy drink, special flavor, etc.)

It is marketed as being Scottish.  And made from girders.

I used to love the stuff, but now can't stomache it, but you've got to try it once if you're living in Scotia.  It's only us soft Sassanachs who can't cope with it.

I think Irn Bru tastes exactly like Circus Peanuts - that orange dense marshmallow-y like candy shaped like big peanuts ... Strangely, I love Circus Peanuts but can't drink Irn Bru. A Scottish friend of mine actually drinks 'bu and Bru - Malibu and Irn Bru!
