Does the NHS cover this type of treatment?  If it does, how would one go about trying to get it?
The chances are there's a reason we've been left here, but I'm not disappointed.  - Idlewild

My husband was referred to a physio (sp?) through the NHS so it must be the same for Chiropractors?

If so, he went to his doctors a few times with the same complaint and was referred to the clinic.  It was about 2 weesk from the referral to the appointment and since then he makes the appointments direct with the physio.

I guess what i'm saying is that I think you should start at your GP and take it from there?

Physios are covered, but chiropractors are not. Sorry!

I wonder if you can get acupuncture on the NHS. I just signed up for a course of 12 sessions of acupuncture and its setting me back a pretty penny, but  my back is killing me and anything is worth a try.

Good luck!

I haven't been able to get acupuncture on the NHS, but have had pretty good results with it  which make paying for it a little less painful.

Thats great to hear!! I am optimistic about it. I had my first session yesterday and I am already feeling a little bit better!!! I am excited that you had good results!

Nope they do not pay for that. Same as for accupuncture.

Load of shite in my books.

I used to go to a chiro or osetho at least once a year, then the last chiro did accupuncture and suggested it. 4 sessions, 50 quid a pop. Best money I ever spent. I haven't been back for over 7 years.

If you can afford it, go for it.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.
