Blood draw results and 6 month wait
« on: September 11, 2007, 03:07:11 AM »
How soon after the 6 month wait period did your pets fly to the UK?  Just curious.  Mine had a successful blood draw on May 5th and we are flying out November 8th.  That is barely after the 6 month wait, but, because I am being terribly anal, just need to know we will be okay if they have the flea/tick/tapeworm treatments on November 6th.

It is the date of the blood draw NOT the date of the test results that starts the clock on the 6 month wait, right?

Just be careful about the 48 hour time limit for the tick and worm treatment.  For example, if the plane is leaving at 3:00pm on the 8th, a treatment given at 11:00am two days earlier on the 6th will not count.  Hope that helps, and good luck! :)

Good point! The treatments cannot be given any less than 24 hours and any more than 48 hours.  The vet will mark the time on the EC998/2003 form.

Our cat flew the day her 6 months were up. We had no problems.
