Anyone in or near Berkshire?
« on: March 19, 2004, 11:17:48 AM »
Well, after moving to the USA and moving back in just a few short months, it turns out that we are moving back to the exact same place as before. After a few weeks of travelling around England for hubby's interviews, his previous employer expressed an interest in having him back, were willing to pay more, and he likes it there.

Just wondering who else lives in or near Berkshire????

I'm in the tri-county Berkshire/Hampshire/Surrey area, just a few miles from Reading...in Fleet :)

Hi GrnEyes and Sweetypeabee, :)

I think I have communicated with both of you on other sites. Nice to see you again, :)

Any meetups planned soon? As I did not feel at all settled here before, I didn't bother attending any meetups. I would like to change that now.

I will keep an eye on the meet up board for any in this area. :)

GrnEyes, I hear that Fleet is beautiful and I have seen photos that you have taken behind your house on another site. I am green with envy about the view you have out your back garden. Very beautiful!

Sweetypeabee, I live in Wokingham, so we are very close. How long have you lived there? Where is your favorite place to go in Reading?

I look forward to getting to know both of you much better, :)

Jenny

I will be moving "to the area" in Farnborough in Hampshire. Not too far from Reading.

Hi Eliza--

Terrific then. I know Woodley--isn't that where Dintern (sp?) pastures is? Not very far at all if it's where I am thinking it is. We go to Dinterns a lot in the warmer months for a walk on a Sunday.

How long have you lived in the area?

A meetup would be terrific. I know that people in the area have met up at Chili's and TGIF's in Reading in the past. Perhaps I'll start a thread in the meetup section to see if there is any more interest. Yes, I think that I will.

I look forward to getting to know you better and perhaps seeing you at a meetup ElizaM.

I've lived in Reading for almost three years now. I live over in West Reading near Reading West Station.

Wow Sweetypeabee,

You must be feeling settled in after over 3 years. I imagine you know it quite well there.

I must admit that I have only been to Reading to shop. Are there any interesting sites to see there or things I am missing? I feel that I am ready to get out and do more in my surroundings and would like to be in the know when the rellies finally decide to visit.

I noticed some really cool offices that have gone up along the M4. Nice glass ones. I am going to have to research the companies in the area when I start the old job search. I know that Microsoft has offices there, but would be interested to find out about the other companies in the area. I cannot say that I am looking forward to the recruitment consultant game again  :o, that's for sure.
