Has anyone used the freight service offered by UPS? I was at the UPS store the other day dropping off a box and saw a leaflet about their freight service they offer for household moves. The leaflet said they offer truck, air, or ocean freight.
I'll be moving from the Philadelphia area to the UK this summer so I spoke to the manager at the UPS store about the leaflet, but unfortunately, he didn't know anything about the service and asked me to give him a call back. We've been playing phone tag for about a week now, so I have no information still. Just wondering if any of you either used this service, or at least got a quote from them so I can have an idea about the cost. I've already been in contact with a few other moving companies and had been leaning toward UPak, but if I can go with a company I know and trust like UPS, all the better.
During one of my attempts to reach the UPS guy, I was speaking with another worker there and she was telling me that if I do ship boxes with them, I have to provide a detailed packing list of everything inside the boxes. Ok, fair enough, I totally expected that. But then she said that if I had a box of clothing for example, I would have to describe each garment in precise detail and indicate where it was made and what the fabric was made out of. She also said for my shipment of books, that I would have to include a list of title and author of all the books in the shipment.

Is she kidding me? I knew I would have to be specific on customs forms and such, but such fine detail? I nearly fainted when I heard this. When I think about all the articles of clothing my family and I have and the number of books, my head spins.
Has anyone else had to do this?
Thanks
Brigette
