I like to do both!  With husband and kids.  Without kids but with husband.  With kids but without husband.  With friends but no husband or kids. With family. I just like to go places :)

I'd like to do both too!  But my husband is pretty particular in that he'd be terribly jealous if I got to go somewhere & he didn't, cos we both like travelling so much.  And then I'd feel terribly guilty for leaving him behind, cos I'm crazy about him & want him to be happy.  So I don't know any way of getting around it.  Maybe if it was something really girly, involving lots of shopping (which he hates anyway) & more on the local side (UK) & then he wouldn't mind so much. :P

Or maybe when we've been married longer & are sick of the sight of each other... :D

Awww--that's how I feel, too.  One of the advantages of not having kids is that we get to be "selfish" and explore places together which we may not have the money or time for if we did have kids.

I definitely like doing both - fun trips with DH and fun trips with friends. Sometimes DH comes along with the friends, sometimes not.  He's the same.  I find you see and do different things with both approaches that you wouldn't have necessarily done with the other.  I like the variety.
