Ticklist for repats?
« on: December 01, 2007, 02:51:52 PM »
We (sadly!!) repatriated in May.  I was wondering if there is a ticklist for repatriation, to help others in this process, and me, too.  Despite letting our utilities know, for example, of our repatriation, they continued to bill us for gas and electric.

Thanks!

No, but no doubt my DH will create one  ::) He is super organized, sometimes to the point of driving me insane with it b/c I am just not. I will be happy to share it with you or others once he makes it.

We are repatriating in Jan 2008, less than a month! I am sad about it too but I am happy about moving to a warmer climate

A good place to go for things like this is diveintoamerica.com.
I hadn't thought of things like letting Internal Revenue know!!
As well as your Council (who, thanks to my horrible landlord, are still trying to charge me for a 'second home'  ::) ), cable/telephone, gas/electric, etc.
I also paid for a year of mail forwarding to my U.S. address and am emailing to get myself off of lists as unwanted catalogues etc. come in.
I was also billed after I'd given notice for my gas/electric, but after emailing them, they corrected it.
