England National team ?

What do you think about the upcoming years for the side? my opinion is you got be offensive minded and press forward & forget about sitting back and waiting for something to happen. Put James back in goal. Get rid of Gerrard & Lampard. Put in a younger more hungry side.

My opinion...sack the entire first team and replace them with our brilliant under 21 team!

And BEG Manuel Almunia to naturalise to he can play in goal :)

Does anyone at all think Beckham should be the captain of the England team? He didn't make much of an impression in Real, and he certainly hasn't turned Americans on to soccer/football. Any thoughts? (I won't even bring UP that vacuous, self-promoting, talentless wife of his.)

Mmm, I really don't know.  Do you think he would make a better captain of Brighton and Hove Albion, Galaxy?  ;)

Brighton and Hove aren't "big league," like Manchester United, where Beckham used to play.

I think give them all a kick in the a** and make them work.  Get rid of the prima donnas.  And they need more than just Wayne Rooney!  And teach them how to shoot!

And start developing the younger generation!!!  Good God, just because the UK won in 1968, doesnt' mean they can stop development!

Sir Trevor knows what needs to be done and if the FA would just get their head out of their own a**, and listen, it will revolutionise football in the UK.  They're not even reinventing the wheel, it's just common sense and has been proven throughout the world as an effective and successful way to develop players.

Rant over, but I could go on....

What did the UK win in 1968?  I'm assuming you meant England in 1966.

I agree for the most part.  But I think even some of them are in danger of becoming "prima donnas".  :-\\\\

Yes, they will unless someone keeps them hungry and working.  Development should not stop when they hit the bigs.

I like your thinking, esp about Almunia. You could help him with his app.  ;D
