Self-catering flats in London?
« on: December 28, 2007, 06:31:23 PM »
I hope this is the right forum for this, I didn't think it went in Housing.

Anyway, my husband and I (and possibly our toddler, but that might be a thread in itself!) are planning to visit London in mid-late March as a sort of scouting trip.

Ideally, we'd live like Londoners, in a flat, take the Tube during rush hour, do shopping etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for self-catering flats, specifically in North London?  There are a lot of things that come up in a Google search and it's hard to tell what are dodgy accommodation services sites.

We'd like a 1 bedroom for a week to 10 days.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, we stayed in these during a couple of our stays in London and they were inexpensive and very handy for getting around London.  Check out  www.202apartments.com  I think we paid around £70 per night.  It was a bit small and older building, but had a double bed, small table and chairs and tv in the room with a small bath room with tub, and a small convenient kitchen as well.  There were pots, pans, and dishes with a small refrigerator and cooktop.  These apartments are located in Kensington just a block from the Nottinghill tube stop.  There are major shopping stores just steps away - M & S, Tesco and a couple of others that also have food shops in them.  So stocking the fridge for meals is very handy.  There are also other pubs and restaurants all around there if you aren't in the mood to cook.  Very convenient place to stay.

Haven't used this site myself, but another link to try: http://www.boo.com/london/selfcatering

Good luck :)
