where can I buy free weights?

I'll be traveling to the UK and don't want to lug my free weights in my bags. Where can I buy a cheap set of between 5-8 lb weights? I'll be in Oxford.

I got some new disk weights from Tesco recently, might be an option.

Why wasn't Argos suitable btw?  I'd be surprised if you could beat them on price by much.

The weights I saw were .5 and 1 kilogram. I'm looking for a little bit heavier, I think (is my conversion correct?)

Yeah, 1kg is 2.2lbs, so you'd be looking for something between about 2kg and 4kg (4.4lb-8.8lb).

Not trying to pimp Argos but they have a variety of weights.  I did  a search for "weights" and only got a few results but "dumb bells" got loads of results (not all of which were dumb bells.)

Obviously the major sports chains (JJB et al) will have a good selection.

I'm not sure if they have one in Oxford but Sports World are the cheapest High St. sports place although their inventory is a bit hit and miss.  i think of them like a sport TK Maxx.

I have dumbbells from .5kg to 8kg. I ordered them online. Just compare prices online. I got hexagonal neoprene ones and I use them at least three times a week. Great investment. Be prepared to spend a lot more than you would have done in the US, though. Everything is more expensive here, particularly fitness equipment, it seems.

I looked under fitness then searched by York. 

Decathalon's another place you can buy free weights.  They'll probably be more expensive than Tesco or Argos, but its an option nonetheless.
