US issued Ikea credit card?
« on: January 25, 2008, 04:25:06 PM »
Can I use my US issued Ikea card at Ikea in the UK?  Has anyone had experience with this?  I know I can use my other major credit cards and I have done so without a problem, but I wasn't sure about using store cards.  And while we're on the subject, how about using my US issued Old Navy card at the Gap in the UK?  Is this possible?

Getting closer to the big move to the UK and silly questions like this are starting to pop up in my head in the middle of the night!

I think you'll have to call the companies that finances the credit cards for the answer

If they are Mastercard or Visa branded then you could.

You would doubtless be charged 3 or 4% as a foreign exchange fee and might also create UK tax problems if you pay off the account with non-UK income or gains.
