COA

Probably been asked a thousand times before, but not recently I can find!

For those that needed to apply for a COA - how long did yours take to come back?  The current guidance says 70% are returned within 20 working days (4 weeks), which is exactly how long my IGS visa took.

Am I correct in remembering that a COA is only good for 3 months?  Therefore, I want to apply in that tight window between not too early and enough time before the wedding...We're getting married 7 June, so I was thinking of sending it off at the beginning of March.  I'm pretty much assuming that a straightforward application (no previous marriages, partner currently in the UK and British-born) would easily come back within that 4-week window.  I obviously don't want to risk not having the certificate back in time, but also applying TOO early would be disastrous!

Just looking for other peoples' stories here :).

Thanks!!

(edit...okay, I missed the bit that the COA is good for 3 months to give NOTICE, but then that notice is good for a further 12 months...so basically, I can apply for the COA at point now, really, and it won't be too early!)
