Buying Tea As A Gift

Hello,

I was hoping to get some feed back.  I have a friend here in America that is from the UK and is feeling kind of home sick.  I wanted to get them some tea and throw a little tea  party for them.  I found a place that sells some varieties of biscuits and what not, but I don't know what kind of tea to buy, other than black.

Is there a more popular type of tea (in ways of Earl Grey vs. a plain Assam vs. a mixed leaf Breakfast tea) for just everyday drinking?

if you're friend is homesick, i'd suggest just regular old black tea like pg tips or yorkshire. loads of folks here drink those as their everyday cuppas--might be a nice taste of h0me for her.

Ditto on the Digestives. I usually take a pack with me on my U.S. trips so hubby can have a taste of home. :)

Oooh. I'll have to try that!

As for the original question -- PG Tips and McVities chocolate digestives. (I fell in love with the dark chocolate variety recently, but that's probably news for the dark chocolate thread.)

I just sent my parents a British care package!  2 Union Jack coffee mugs, 2 large boxes of Yorkshire Gold Tea and some dark chocolate.  :)

I don't know where you're located, but there are a number of tea shops in Santa Monica, California that sell a lot of British products. Really nice stuff. Not sure if they ship.  Unfortunately I only know that it was on like second and santa monica blvd.  Google maps?
