City of Vice

Anyone else watching this?

I think it's a great show but it's so hard to watch at times. I'm used to the 18th Century that Jane Austen writes about, where people are in love and there is the rare scandal. City of Vice shows a really awful side.

Ooh thanks very much for the tip! I'm downloading it now. It sounds very interesting!

I know what you mean. It's when they use really old slang, like molly houses.

Actually, I loved that! After that episode I spent a couple of hours happily browsing the web reading about homosexuality in the 18th century in England. Fascinating stuff.

That's one of the things I like a lot about the show: it provides nice googling starting points in every episode, especially for someone who's a British History freak like yours truly.
