Lufthansa?
« on: February 11, 2008, 07:55:07 PM »
So, I originally booked my flight back to Edinburgh on American for the 13th in order to arrive on V-Day and surprise Dave who's under the impression that I'm to arrive on the 20th. I recently received a very apologetic phone call from American informing me that the flight was completely booked at the time I made my reservation and that information hadn't gone through their system yet, etc. etc. so they refunded my ticket and all that.

I have now booked a flight for the 20th (works out better anyway because I've got friends from the coast coming up to see me this weekend) with Lufthansa and I was wondering if any of you have flown with them before and if so, how was your experience? I've heard good things, so I'm not really worried about it. Just curious what others had to say!

Thanks!  :D
It was most definitely...a THING.

I flew Lufthansa to Munich in October and thought they had good customer service.  Obviously its a shorter flight than from America, but I had no complaints.

I have flown Lufthansa from LA to London. It was ok, but not great. They are not very big on customer service.  ;) The food is quite good though, I remember some yummy (if rather unhealthy) hash browns in cheese sauce for breakfast! However, I had a very bad experience with Lufthansa in Africa but I think that was more due to their local staff in Nigeria than the airline policy.  I wouldn't use them again, if I had a choice.

lufthansa is fine.  the seat's are quite close/not much pitch and i've never had great food with them.  customer service was good though.

I've never heard anyone but airline people refer to it as 'pitch'
Well done for use of airline jargon!

I flew with them a couple of weeks ago and I'm flying them again on Saturday.  It is what it is- sometimes you get delayed and miss a flight.  Sometimes it's a great flight.  I'd still rather fly them than Air France (I've actually changed plans because my only option was Air France).
