Pret's Miso Soup

Anyone know if this is vegetarian, or is it made with fish stock rather than kelp or mushroom?

What is Pret?  Most miso soup has fish stock, unless it says something like 'kombu dashi'.

I would assume it's not vegetarian as it's not labeled as "suitable for vegetarians" on their website, whilst other items are.

Yeah - we e-mailed them in the end and they said it's fish-based.  Problem is, my veggie friend asked whilst she was in the shop and they told her it was veggie.  She took one taste when back in the office and voiced her concerns.

She's complained that she was mis-informed in the shop, and they're sending her some vouchers by way of apology.  Luckily, she has sharp tastebuds and didn't go further than that first sip.

I think peedal is talking about Pret A Manger, the sandwich chain.

Whatever it is, it's bloody horrible.
