Got my spousal visa in hand! Whoo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!
« on: October 06, 2008, 03:46:44 PM »
Hi everyone,

I just received my spousal visa about 30 minutes ago with the CP (KOL REQ).

A special thanks to Vicky, I think I've read every post of hers!

I sent mine thru A Briggs and I did have a deferment but it only lasted a day.

Whoo Hoo!

Even after all this time the sun never says to the Earth "You owe me."
Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky.

Forgive my ignorance but I keep seeing KOL and can't figure out what it is.  I have a fiance visa and I believe it is something that is stamped on the spousal visa.  I have searched the boards for the meaning but can't find it anywhere.  Is KOL something everyone will get?

Gongrats hun that is awesome! =)

I think KOL is Knowledge of Life in the UK... it's a test you have to take before you get your FLR further Leave to Remain... i.e. 2 year spousal visa... I think heh

not everyone will get a KOL endorsement on their visa- only those who have been living together for four years or more outside the UK and apply from a spouse visa from the US without having taken the Life in the UK test.  So in your case, you don't need to worry about it. :)

Not quite right...you take the Life in the UK test before you get ILR (ie, while you're on the 2 year spouse visa).  It's certainly not a prerequisite for FLR.
