I'd go and sneeze and drip all over the GP's stupid receptionists until they agree to register you.

Yeah, gotta agree.  You've got something going on that needs to be reassessed.  Hope you're better soon!

Liking Vicky's suggestion.  Your potential GP's office deserves a cough like that after all they've put you through of late.

that's the bizarre thing about here though is that infectious people go through there all the time; the surgeries make no allowances for it.

When we had a bad bout of norovirus, I called to talk to the doctor because there was no way I was taking my son in because 1. he was very infectious and 2. he wouldn't have been able to make it through waiting etc..  without running to the toilet.

The receptionist didn't understand why we didn't want to come in.  Hello?  Bad diarrhea and lots of old people in your waiting room, that's why!

The doctor got it and actually thanked us.

Too bad there aren't more considerate people like you in the world.   :)

My son and I recently had to wait for about an hour and a half to see the doctor.  During most of this whole time, there were two small children running semi-wild in the waiting room.
When they came out after seeing the doctor, the mother was telling her son that he wouldn't be able to go to playgroup because he had chickenpox.

Ha! That's nothing.  When I was a pharmacy assistant I was selling a lice kit to a mom while her kids ran around the shop.  The older child (about 9) came back, stood next to her mother, and scratched her head over the sales counter.  I was shuddering for weeks.

I think Hippocratic oath only applies to doctors. But have they never heard of basic consideration for others?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
